The Daily

JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Work Experience

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience working with 1st party game platforms (Xbox, PlayStation and Steam) in an engineering capacity

  • Experience with some or all of Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Jira (or other bug databases), Confluence, Visual Studio, Perforce (or other source control tools)

Cinematic Junior Associate (TEMP)

The Job

WB Games Inc., seeks an Associate Artist to support and assist the Avalanche Cinematic Team. This position is an individual contributor primarily focused on assisting the cinematic creation teams from a technical standpoint.

This work can include scene setup in Motion Builder, Maya, and our in-house cinematic tool, maintaining functionality of cinematics throughout the project. The Associate Artist Intern will also be responsible for asset verification and collection for outsourced cinematics.

The Daily

  • Provide Cinematic Scene Setup and maintenance which will include:
    • Set up MotionBuilder props and sets from in game assets
    • Set up SceneRigs (Proprietary tool)
    • Export and setup Sub scene files (Propriety tool in Maya)
  • Maintain functionality of cinematics throughout the project.
  • Support outsourcers as needed with asset verification and collection before it is sent out, and intake of the new data

The Senior Designer, Gameplay Systems and Narrative will have a passion and gift for planning, communicating, tracking, and fine-tuning Disparate gameplay and narrative systems including Relatedness VO, Companions, Save Game Design and direction. This role involves heavy collaboration with the Lead Designer and design teams to ensure that game experience targets are met and conveyed to various teams within our organization.

The Daily

  • Become familiar with the entire game flow and narrative, managing relatedness VO design back to the player by documenting, holding meetings and tuning data.
  • Work with QA team to provide information as to how the system works and how it should be tested.
  • Conduct meetings, provide design documentation and direction on systemic Companions.
  • Collaborate with Tech Director, Producer and implementation team to document and communicate Save Game design across multiple mission and dungeon teams.
  • Work with QA to make sure they understand how to properly test the system and report issues against it.

The Essentials

  • Experience working in console game development, from start to finish, on multiple projects.
  • Experience with similar design responsibilities, on a large-scale console game project (the bigger the better).
  • Experience in designing systems or narrative for open-world, RPG, or branching-story structure games
